Adoption records are searched every day online by adopted children and by the biological parents of those adopted kids. Searching adoption records is much easier for the adopted children than it is for the biological parents. Here is how each people search these records to find the information they need.
For the adopted child searching adoption records there are a number of different sites that you can visit to search through the adoption records. You will need to know whether you were born in the U.S. or in Canada and you have to be eighteen years of age. You will need to find a national adoption registry and put in your name, date of birth, and your social security number. If you have the state you were born in, this will be helpful. Then you just start your search.
For the biological parent searching adoption records you will need to start your search only when the child you are looking for has turned eighteen because no agency will give out information on a child that is not a legal age. You will want to start your search with the adoption agency you used when you gave the child up for adoption. If they don’t have any adoption records then you can search an online database.
Adoption records can be one of the hardest kinds of records to find but with hard work and determination you can find the information you are looking for. So, if you don’t find the records you want at first, then you will want to start searching adoption records at different sites until you find what you need.

my birth certificate states I was born in louisville Ky @ general hospital which is no longer there my birthday is Nov.9,1961.My adopted parents has been deceased for years. I have been trying to find my biological mother or father for years now. Im sure I have other brothers or sisters i wonder alot about it. Whether I was the oldest or younger one. Its very painful not knowing who I am or who I came from.

In 1964 I gave my biological son up for adoption. through the CATHOLIC CHARITIES and now that I am 72 years old I would love to find him. He was born at ST JOSEPH HOSPITAL here in Fort Wayne Indiana 46835. Thank you Bonnie Jean ONeil
