Public Records Websites

A public record search can give a user access to records such as marriage, birth, family, court, census, property and more.

Most sites allow you to access multiple records in a single search. However, if there is a specific record for which you are searching (for example ancestry or property) it is sometimes better to use a service that specializes in that specific type of search.

Wanted a complete records search on myself. They didn't find any property, criminal or anything on me. They are of no help in finding records.

Paid $29.95 and received NOTHING. I mean nothing but an address. All of the information requested was a matter of public record but it pulled none of it.

I supposedly had something in a town I have never been to, knew of, heard of etc., but had a felony record there. Sent a runner for the file but there was no file because there was no one there by that name. I still had to pay. This is a rip off. I ask them where they get this information (as to repair the notice of the record), but they played dumb, they just do not know where it comes from just a public site.

While I admit some of the data is not quite up to date it is a great website. To those who have been charged some fee you had to have signed up for something third party somewhere. I paid a full year up front and was never charged anything but my first fee. Now, for those who can't find any info on certain people. You can only get data on people who have criminal records in counties that have their public records ONLINE. Say for example you know John Doe is convicted of murder in XX county in Ohio. If XX county does not transmit their public records online, then you will not get their details unless they are still incarcerated or on parole. The reason you would even be able to get it then is because they would should active through the ODRC website. I do agree though that their address system should update more often because even my address is way behind. (Not that that's a bad thing) :)

For the people looking for their divorce records, contact the courthouse in the city where you were divorced and they will give you the information for how to obtain the records and it is usually $1 a page or less.
