A state record search will give users access to records such as adoption, death, genealogy, birth, criminal and more.

Most state record search sites will allow you to access many different types of records. However, if there is a specific record in which you are search (for example death records or criminal records) it is better to use a service that specializes in those types of services.

I only wish I had read these reviews before throwing away $50. Do not expect any information... and it will all be your fault for not understanding that this is only a very poor 'public records' search.

There is some info. But it's a crap shoot. People have to remember that the records on ancestry.com are elsewhere on other websites as well. And the truth is, the only records you can get from any website are the records that have been put into the system. Presently, that has a long way to go. A LONG way to go.

nothing i found i couldn't get from a dogpile.com search. i had to call cust.service and the young lady was very nice and helpful, however she pointed out that she was giving something as a curitousy, funny, i had thought i had paid for that very info, and again nothing i didn't find on the white pages and facebook and a little more detective work. i did find a small claims, but that too is of public record. i dont think ill be back.

I have had really good luck in their newspaper archives but unfortunately they limit you to 10 searches per day with a 40% off offer to then join NewspaperArchives.com for another $71 per year... nowhere on their site or Terms of Use did I find notification of this limited access... in fact, original offer states "UNLIMITED" access for $39.95... beware!

for the people looking for their divorce records, contact the courthouse in the city where you were divorced and they will give you the information for how to obtain the records and it is usually $1 a page or less.

This site is a waste of time! Where are all of the databases and records that were supposed to be available?

I think how much you'll like Ancestry.com depends on what you are looking for. I research the Kentucky records primarily and I LOVE Ancestry.com. It's the best money I ever spent. However, I did notice they don't have a lot on some of the other states, and I've never looked into other countries' records. That costs extra, and I agree that the "new" Ancestry.com is more difficult to use than it used to be.
